Senior In-House Legal Specialist

About this Role:
As a senior legal counsel, you will have the opportunity to contribute to a growing organization that is evolving rapidly and making bold moves in its sector.
This position offers the chance to work closely with the general counsel in a broad and influential legal role. You will be a trusted advisor across the business, supporting key functions including commercial, finance, projects, operations, exploration, native title, human resources and company secretarial.
- Providing advice across a wide range of commercial, corporate, contractual, and regulatory matters.
- Drafting and negotiating complex commercial contracts including procurement, banking, and confidentiality agreements.
- Managing disputes and claims efficiently, including oversight of external legal counsel.
- Contributing to corporate governance, risk and supporting major operational and strategic initiatives.
This role would suit a lawyer with 5-12 years' experience, ideally gained across both private practice and in-house with a background in either the mining, resources, construction or engineering sectors. You will also bring:
- A collaborative mindset and the ability to influence across all levels of the organization.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate complex legal concepts for non-legal audiences.
- Strong judgment, critical thinking, and a pragmatic approach to legal problem-solving.
- Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
