Job Description

The Strategic Community Relations Director will play a pivotal role in shaping the company's reputation and relationships with key stakeholders. This is an exceptional opportunity for a seasoned professional to lead the community relations function, develop strategic partnerships, and drive engagement activities that align with Urban Utilities' corporate strategy.

About the Role:

  • Lead the development and implementation of community relations strategies, programs, and initiatives that advance the company's interests and enhance its reputation.
  • Foster strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including leaders across multiple functions, to ensure alignment and collaboration on key projects and initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain effective partnerships with external stakeholders, including community members, representatives, and capital delivery partners, to support the delivery of capital infrastructure projects and operational maintenance programs.
  • Provide strategic guidance and leadership to the community relations team, empowering them to deliver high-quality outcomes and results.
  • Collaborate with other teams to identify opportunities for growth, innovation, and improvement, and contribute to the development of business cases and proposals to support new initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Communications, Community/Public Relations, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in community relations, stakeholder engagement, and partnership development, preferably in a water or utilities industry context.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and empower a team to deliver outstanding results.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
