About the Role

TOMRA is seeking a highly skilled Field Service Engineer to join our team in Sydney, supporting customer operations across Australia.

As a Field Service Engineer, you will travel to customer mine sites to commission, test, operate, repair, and maintain TOMRA ore sorters under the leadership of our Service Manager. You will also be required to coordinate with Australian customers and the TOMRA project management team on various projects.

Approximately 180 days of domestic and international travel, often to remote mining site locations, would be expected from this role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform field service work, including commissioning, testing, operation, maintenance, repair, and breakdowns of TOMRA ore sorters.
  • Repair faulty equipment returned by customers in the workshop.
  • Install and commission sorter projects on-site.
  • Provide technical phone support and field response to equipment and customer issues.
  • Train customer maintenance and service personnel.
  • Deliver effective field service work in terms of costs and timing.
  • Maintain regular on-site presence to ensure successful meeting of customer service level agreements.
  • Coordinate with customers and the TOMRA project team for new sales projects.
  • Develop strong customer relationships and contribute to continuous improvement through quality, efficiency, and profitability feedback.

  • Strong communication and facilitation skills with demonstrated ability to present complex technical information.
  • Excellent technical problem-solving, troubleshooting, and follow-up skills.
  • Ability to relate to customers' views and issues locally and internationally.
  • Motivated individual with a passion for Engineering.
  • Able to work autonomously and handle workload demands.
  • Socially outgoing with a willingness to travel extensively.
  • An engineering qualification with a strong inclination towards hands-on skills in mechanical and electrical systems.
