About the Role

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance to developers, review and approve data designs and data models, and lead the development of our data warehouse platform.
  • Data Governance: Govern and advise on multiple data delivery initiatives, design and approve data delivery patterns, and collaborate with key business areas to develop and implement consumable reports and analytics.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with project delivery teams, data consumers, database development, testers, and IT support teams to ensure seamless data delivery.
  • Technical Expertise: Provide thought leadership in data architecture, data modelling, design, integration, and end-to-end data delivery lifecycle approaches.
  • Knowledge Transfer: Provide knowledge transfer sessions on best practices in development, data modelling, release process, and other relevant areas.
Requirements
  • Strong Data Architecture Skills: Enterprise-scale conformed models, ability to design for analytical use, and experience with cloud data environments, including S3 and contemporary cloud warehouse products.
  • Technical Leadership: Strong experience in technical leadership for delivery of cloud data lake and data warehouse platforms, including ETL and data governance design and implementation.
  • Data Modelling: Strong experience in data modelling, including providing guidance and peer review to engineers and modellers.
  • DevOps: Demonstrated experience working with DevOps processes, version controls, and their appropriate uses.
  • Security Clearance: Ability to obtain a Baseline Security Clearance.
Desirable Criteria
  • Tertiary Qualifications: Tertiary qualifications in mathematics, statistical, computer sciences discipline or more than 8 years of relevant work experience.
  • Technical Skills: Strong expertise in SQL, experience with contemporary analytics coding languages (e.g. Python, R), and experience reverse engineering end-user SQL code and interpreting data models and specifications.
  • Agile Environment: Experience working in an Agile environment and knowledge of metadata/model-driven frameworks.
