The Role

As our Operations Excellence Coordinator, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of maintenance, engineering, and process improvement across both manufacturing sites. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will work closely with the production managers, lead a team of five team members, develop and implement maintenance strategies, drive automation projects, and ensure operational efficiency.

Main Responsibilities

  • Maintenance Leadership – Develop and implement preventative and predictive maintenance strategies using MEX software to ensure optimal equipment performance.
  • Machinery & Process Improvement – Lead new machinery purchases, installations, and upgrades to optimize manufacturing processes and improve product quality.
  • Team & Contractor Management – Supervise maintenance staff, coordinate external contractors, and ensure compliance with OHS and food safety regulations.
  • Breakdown & Preventative Maintenance – Ensure all equipment is maintained, operational, and aligned with production requirements to minimize downtime.
  • Compliance & Reporting – Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities and support compliance for external audits.
  • Purchasing & Stock Control – Manage spare parts inventory and negotiate contracts for maintenance services to optimize resource allocation.

About You

You are a proactive and solutions-driven leader with:

  • Extensive experience in preventative and predictive maintenance management in a FMCG food manufacturing environment.
  • A trade qualification or engineering degree in a relevant field.
  • Proficiency in MEX or similar CMMS software and strong computer skills.
  • A hands-on approach with high energy, initiative, and problem-solving ability.
  • Excellent communication, planning, and organizational skills.
  • A track record of success in supplier and contractor management.
