Product Visionary

The Fintech team at Hopper is responsible for delivering innovative solutions to help customers save money, provide financial security, and reduce travel anxiety. As a Principal Product Designer, you will lead the design vision of what fintech means for Hopper and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver features for Hopper's consumer and business products that are both useful and delightful.

• Develop solutions with a focus on great user experience while balancing customer needs, company goals, design cohesion, and ease of implementation
• Own end-to-end user journey and all aspects of design execution from customer research to ideation to prototyping to usability tests to final product
• Seek out, understand, incorporate, and communicate qualitative and quantitative feedback throughout the design process
• Dive deep on product data to identify opportunities to improve the product through design
• Lead design reviews with external partners and make strong business cases for why we should build what we want to build
• Work autonomously in a cross-functional, agile product group with Product Managers, Engineers, and Data Scientists to prioritize and build new features

• Master's degree in Industrial Design
• At least 7 years of experience designing consumer-focused products on web and mobile
• Strong understanding of usability and user experience principles and demonstrated experience in visual design with a great sense for aesthetics
• Capacity to lead ideation and align the group around a vision and approach
• Enthusiasm to relentlessly research and understand the customer through all tools at their disposal
• Comfortable designing products from MVP to ideal state with experience developing experiment-driven work and basic analysis of success measurement
• Proven track record of working with product teams to ship successful multi-platform products
• Ability to clearly explain thinking verbally and through writing to help drive clarity, uncover new questions, and get to a resolution working both independently and with various team members or stakeholders
• Technical depth that allows them to communicate with, understand, and earn the respect of world-class engineers
• Ability to independently flourish with minimal guidance, be proactive, and handle ambiguity
• Experience working with Figma, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign
