About the Position
ALS is seeking Casual Laboratory Technicians to join our team based out of our on-site laboratory. As a Laboratory Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and efficiency of our laboratory operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collecting production and CHPP samples from client sites.
- Performing a range of preparation and analytical tests, including Ash, Moisture, Total Sulfur, Calorific Value, Sizing Analysis, etc.
- Ensuring all work is carried out in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to standard operating instructions.
- Validating results to ensure they meet repeatability tolerances.
- Optimizing turnaround time for samples while maintaining the highest quality of results.
- Ensuring Quality Work Instructions and Standard Operating Procedures are followed.
- Maintaining a high standard of housekeeping and presentation of all equipment and work areas.
- Assisting in the operation of the Pilot Scale CHPP Bulk sample lay down, pickup, and weighing back of samples.
Requirements:
- A strong focus on safety, quality, and teamwork.
- Physical fitness and comfort with manual handling duties.
- Numeracy and literacy skills relevant to the position.
- Sound time management and organization skills.
- Ability to learn on the job.
- Good organization and communication skills.
- Reliability and trustworthiness.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Forklift license would be highly regarded.
- Previous industry experience would be an advantage.
Selection Process:
A pre-employment medical exam, including a drug and alcohol assessment, is required as part of the selection process. ALS is an equal opportunity employer.
