About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Analyst to join our team at Climate Zero, a leading provider of carbon accounting software. As a Data Analyst, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and quality of our carbon accounting database.

Your primary responsibilities will include managing our proprietary carbon accounting database, ensuring the accuracy of emission factors and data sets, and updating the database with the latest emission factor data. You will also be responsible for performing data modeling, analytics, and reporting, as well as working with our product and software engineering teams to design and deliver new product features.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage Climate Zero's proprietary carbon accounting database, maintaining a global set of emission factors
  • Ensure the accuracy of all emission factors, data sets, and calculations
  • Update the database with the latest emission factor data and continuously expand to include new factors
  • Ensure Climate Zero delivers enterprise-grade reporting adhering to various reporting frameworks
  • Perform data modeling, analytics, and reporting
  • Work with product and software engineering teams to design and deliver new product features
  • Work with software engineering ahead of releases to perform quality assurance checks and testing
  • Document Climate Zero's methodology and ensure the product delivers audit-grade transparency
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest data science methods globally
Requirements
  • 2+ years of experience in an analytical role
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Hands-on experience with data visualization tools and concepts
Preferred Qualifications
  • Education in environmental or sustainability science
  • Experience working in carbon emissions accounting and reporting frameworks (voluntary or regulatory)
  • Understanding of the corporate climate accounting and target-setting landscape, and the underlying science, its challenges, and limitations
Location

We are based in Melbourne, Australia, and prefer candidates to be based in Melbourne where most of the team are. However, we will consider applicants from other parts of Australia on a remote basis.

We work a hybrid model and generally get together in the office 1-2 days per week. The rest of your time can be spent working from home or wherever you prefer.
