About the Role

The Executive Assistant to the Head of School is a pivotal and highly-respected role supporting the Head of one of the biggest, most prominent and dynamic independent schools in Canberra. This esteemed position involves providing high-level support to the Head of School, requiring outstanding organisational and interpersonal skills.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the Head's workflow, prioritising tasks, and ensuring seamless access to the Head. Additionally, they will be responsible for managing and documenting meetings, scheduling appointments, and arranging travel. The role also involves handling information requests, drafting correspondence, and other writing tasks.

The Executive Assistant will work closely with the Head and members of the School leadership teams, engaging constantly with board members, School staff, parents, students, and members of the wider community. The successful candidate must have diplomacy, discretion, and integrity at all times.

About You

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual with a minimum of 5 years' experience at a Senior Executive Assistant level. The ideal candidate will possess excellent administrative and organisational skills, including strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to learn new IT systems.

The successful candidate will also have excellent writing and communication skills, including spelling, punctuation, and grammatical accuracy. They will be able to work autonomously and as part of a team, with a proactive, flexible, and versatile attitude that is responsive to changing priorities.

The successful candidate will also have a relevant tertiary degree or qualification, current First Aid and CPR qualifications, a valid ACT Working with Vulnerable People Card, and a valid Police Check. They will also have full working rights within Australia.
