We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced House Manager to join our team at Life Without Barriers. As a House Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our residential house, ensuring a safe, culturally appropriate, and healing environment for children and young people.
Key Responsibilities- Build Professional Relationships: Establish and maintain professional, trusting relationships with children and young people through visible interest and active engagement.
- Ensure a Safe Environment: Ensure the home is a place that is emotionally and physically safe, nurturing, and appropriately engaging and stimulating, to foster growth and resilience.
- Develop and Implement Plans: Assist with the development and implementation of the Departmental Case Plan (where applicable) and develop and implement the LWB Case/Care plan that drives day-to-day service delivery.
- Lead and Manage Staff: Manage, support, and provide reflective supervision and team meetings to a team of residential workers, and lead staff to work as a team in the best interests of children and young people.
- Support Staff Development: Support staff to apply the Therapeutic Crisis Intervention system (TCI) to prevent, de-escalate, and respond to crisis incidents involving children and young people.
- Rostering and Intake: Undertake rostering of residential workers ensuring that risks are managed and staffing levels reflect the needs of children and young people living in the home. Coordinate the intake and transition of new children and young people into the home and the exit of children and young people to permanent homes or step-down services.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work collaboratively with external stakeholders and ensure the CIRTS database is up to date with all client information.
- Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention or similar.
- Experience Working with Vulnerable Children: Experience working with children and young people who have experienced trauma and disadvantage.
- Residential Services Experience: Experience in the co-ordination and management of 24-hour residential services for vulnerable people.
- Leadership and Management: Demonstrated experience in managing and leading a team.
- Crisis Management: Demonstrated capacity to manage crises and critical issues and deal with complex and challenging situations.
- Driver's License: Current Unrestricted Australian Drivers Licence.
- First Aid and CPR: First Aid and CPR Certificates (or willingness to obtain if successful).
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and oral communication skills, including strong interpersonal skills, use of Microsoft Office packages.
