Abbott is a leading global healthcare company that drives innovation and quality in the industry.

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Procurement Specialist to join our team based in Australia or New Zealand. Reporting to this role is responsible for the day-to-day procurement activities across all Abbott divisions in the region.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in procurement, with at least 3 years of experience in indirect procurement. Experience within the healthcare or FMCG industries is highly advantageous. A qualification in marketing or previous experience in a marketing role can also be beneficial.

The Responsibilities:

  • Execute the procurement process, including completion of associated documentation and lead supplier negotiations
  • Manage commercial relationships for indirect categories, including sourcing, contract, and vendor management
  • Support tenders and contract documentation, cost, terms, and conditions negotiations with vendors
  • Oversee the purchase order approval process, adhering to policies and SOPs within expected timeframes
  • Develop and manage preferred supplier programs, providing assistance to internal customers on supplier and contract management as required
  • Conduct training on procurement processes and policies as needed

The Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field
  • Proven track record in procurement, with expertise in managing contracts and suppliers
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate effectively
  • Strong analytical, statistical, and numerical/mathematical skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and attention to detail
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders
