Car Preparation Technician

We are seeking a Car Preparation Technician to join our team at Pacific Rail Services. In this entry-level role, you will have the opportunity to learn and grow within our company while contributing to the preparation of railcars for vehicle loading.

The salary for this position starts at $18/hour, with a possible increase after 90 days. Your typical work schedule will be first shift, although flexibility is required for start and finish times, including weekends and holidays.

In this position, you will be responsible for inspecting and preparing railcars for loading. This involves checking chocks, doors, decks, grates, and cleaning the rails using a backpack blower. You will also identify defects and assist in repairing railcars according to PRS Auto processes based on AAR standards.

This role requires physical activity, including bending, squatting, leaning, and moving plates to secure railcars together. If you are interested in a career in the rail industry, this is an excellent opportunity for growth and advancement within our company.

Please note that applicants must currently reside within a 45-minute commute of Spring Hill, TN. We are unable to consider candidates outside of this area or those requiring relocation.

To qualify for this position, applicants must possess a valid driver's license, pass a 7-year background check, and a drug test. You must also be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions, lift up to 50 pounds above your head, and climb various heights without fear.
