Job Title:
">We are seeking an experienced and skilled professional to join our team as a Horse Care Specialist.
">About the Role:
">As a Horse Care Specialist, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care and attention to our thoroughbred horses. This includes ensuring their physical and mental well-being, as well as maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the stables and surrounding areas.
">Key Responsibilities:
">- Attend to the meticulous care of our horses, including feeding, grooming, and monitoring their health and wellbeing.
- Participate in race days and barrier trials, ensuring the horses' safety and performance.
- Clean and maintain the stables and surrounding areas, adhering to high standards of hygiene and organization.
- Monitor and record horse temperatures, identifying any potential health issues early on.
- Prepare horses for trackwork and training sessions, ensuring they are comfortable and ready for exercise.
- Feed and care for the horses' nutritional needs, providing them with a balanced diet and regular veterinary check-ups.
- Transport horses to and from the racetrack, using safe and suitable vehicles.
- Load and unload equipment such as walkers, ensuring they are securely stored and maintained.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of tack, rugs, and stable equipment, preventing damage and ensuring easy access.
Requirements:
">To be successful in this role, you will need:
">- A strong passion for animal care and welfare.
- Experience working with horses, preferably in a racing or equestrian environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to work effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
- Able to lift and handle horses safely, as well as move equipment and supplies.
- A valid visa and permission to work in the country.
