Early Childhood Support Specialist

We are seeking an Early Childhood Support Specialist to join our team. This role will involve working with families to support children aged 0-9 who have developmental concerns, delays, or disabilities.

The successful candidate will work closely with families to understand their child's needs and develop a tailored plan to support them. They will also provide information about local mainstream and community services, such as childcare, playgroups, and parent support groups.

About the Role:
  • This is a full-time position that requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as experience working with families in a supportive capacity.
  • The successful candidate will need to be able to work independently and as part of a team, and have a valid Driver's Licence - P1 minimum.
  • They will also require a current Working with Children's Check Clearance and a valid NDIS Worker Screening Check (NDIS WC).
Key Responsibilities:
  1. To assess the needs of each family and develop a plan to support them.
  2. To provide information and resources to families about local mainstream and community services.
  3. To work with families to identify their goals and priorities for their child.
  4. To support families in implementing their child's NDIS plan and finding service providers that meet their needs.
Requirements:
  • A minimum Diploma tertiary qualification in Early Childhood Education or Bachelor Degree in Social Work, Allied Health, or other relevant professional field.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with experience providing support to families using a family-focused and strengths-based approach.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting and implementing evidence-based early childhood intervention strategies with families.

This role will be based out of our offices, covering the local region as it involves some travel to meet the child and families/carers in their community and home environment.
