The Project Manager will oversee the planning and execution of civil engineering projects across various sectors, including water and waste. This role requires strong leadership skills, effective communication, and a keen eye for detail.

About the Role

  • Maintain a positive and proactive working environment for staff and subcontractors
  • Participate in strategic planning sessions to contribute to business growth
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality and safety outcomes
  • Represent Alder Group positively to clients and stakeholders
  • Monitor project documentation to identify potential defects and delays
  • Manage project costs and forecasting to achieve financial goals
  • Develop programming skills for long-term and short-term project programs
  • Provide support to the estimating team in procuring work as required by the General Manager
  • Foster relationships with subcontractors and suppliers
  • Review subcontractor and supplier scope of works prior to issue
  • Organise project start-up meetings with the project team
  • Identify and manage key project risks
  • Ensure subcontractors complete their work according to project documentation
  • Achieve project program deliveries within agreed timeframes
  • Manage head contract claims and alert the General Manager/Commercial Manager of any potential risks
  • Prepare monthly project reports on financial and planning aspects for senior management

About You

The ideal candidate should possess relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience as a Project Manager in the civil infrastructure or water and waste sectors. Strong leadership skills, effective communication, and a keen eye for detail are essential requirements for this role.
