As a Distance Education Learning Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting students with diverse needs, working closely with teachers and the Learning Support team to ensure students receive the best possible education.
About the Role
This is a full-time position that involves providing small group initiatives for students with learning needs, working with teachers to support these students in their classes, and collaborating with parents to develop partnerships that help each student succeed.
The position requires working with children, and the appointment of the successful applicant will be subject to satisfactory employment screening for identity, rights to work in Australia, and child protection in accordance with ACC policy.
Key Responsibilities
- Improve student learning and wellbeing outcomes through effective teaching and support strategies.
- Demonstrate excellent teaching practices, as described by the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers.
- Receive feedback on teaching and implement changes to improve student outcomes.
- Plan, collect, and analyse educational data to devise strategies and interventions that enhance student success.
Requirements
- Display the capacity to improve student learning and wellbeing outcomes.
- Demonstrate excellent teaching practices, as described by the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers.
- Be able to receive feedback on teaching and implement changes.
- Be able to effectively plan for, collect, and analyse educational data, then devise appropriate strategies and interventions to improve student outcomes.
- Have an active Christian faith, suitable tertiary qualifications, and TRBWA accreditation (or be eligible).
