Nursery Room Leader Job Description

As a Nursery Room Leader, you will be responsible for leading a team of educators in delivering high-quality learning programs to children aged 0-1. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young children and their families.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Lead and mentor your team to achieve excellence in child outcomes and maintain strong professional relationships within the team.
  2. Develop and implement a cycle of planning, curriculum and outcomes for each child in your room, ensuring that all documentation meets regulatory requirements.
  3. Create a friendly, secure and stimulating interactive learning environment that promotes children's physical, social, emotional and cognitive development.
  4. Maintain positive working relationships with all team members, promoting a culture of respect, trust and open communication.
  5. Ensure a high level of health and safety standards are maintained at all times, adhering to relevant policies and procedures.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • A Certificate III/Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care (or an ACECQA-approved equivalent) or relevant qualifications.
  • Unrestricted full-time working rights in Australia.
  • Previous experience as a Room Leader or similar role is highly advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge and experience of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and the National Quality Standards (NQS).
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, including ability to communicate effectively with children, parents and colleagues.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in software applications relevant to early childhood education.
  • A current Working with Children Check.
  • A current approved First Aid/CPR/Asthma and Anaphylaxis/Child Protection training, or willingness to obtain.
