About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Avionics Systems Engineer to join our team at Air Warfare Engineering Squadron (AWE SQN). As an Avionics Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering engineering outputs that support the development and maintenance of aircraft systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop avionics systems for various Australian Defence Forces platforms, including flight test instrumentation and aircraft stores compatibility.
  • Provide on-site technical expertise to support customers and plan and execute aerospace air and ground verification and validation activities.
  • Conduct technical investigations, report findings, and provide recommendations to engineering management.
  • Collaborate with internal team members and external stakeholders to deliver high-quality engineering outputs.
Requirements
  • Personal drive and integrity with the ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, assess required resources, and prepare plans detailing measurable milestones and expected outcomes.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to develop formal design documentation, test plans, reports, and technical advice.
  • Participation in testing and verification activities and sharing responsibility for team goals and objectives.
