This position is responsible for attending to plant and equipment breakdowns, completing scheduled routine preventative maintenance and providing technical assistance within a continuous improvement environment to optimise the manufacturing process.
**Primary Accountabilities:**
- Analyse, develop and implement programs for plant optimisation to enhance production efficiency.
- Follow maintenance planning schedules to maximise quality production output and ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Maintain and develop computer-driven manufacturing equipment and control systems to improve process automation.
- Apply mechanical solutions to the automatic transfer of material, components or finished goods to streamline production workflows.
- Provide assistance and training to plant operators for equipment maintenance and use to ensure operator competence.
- Assist in developing tests/fixtures for components and finished products to ensure quality control.
- Liaise with contractors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
**Essential Skills:**
- 2+ years' experience on fixed plant machinery, preferably in a manufacturing environment, with a strong understanding of mechanical systems and processes.
- Some steel and plate fabrication experience to ensure proficiency in material handling and processing.
- Ability to work shifts, inclusive of call back and weekend work, to meet production demands.
- Demonstrated ability to read hydraulic and pneumatic drawings to ensure accurate interpretation and implementation.
- Some hydraulic and pneumatic fault-finding ability to troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues.
- Some welding experience and knowledge to ensure proficiency in material joining and processing.
**Desirable Skills:**
- Microsoft Windows and other Office programs to ensure proficiency in software applications.
- Dogmen ticket, forklift licence, high-risk licence, EWP, working at heights, confined space to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- PLC and automation knowledge to ensure proficiency in process control and automation.
- Restricted electrical licence to ensure compliance with electrical safety regulations.
