About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior FDSV Counsellor to join our team at the Armadale Family and Domestic Violence Hub. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will work closely with other professionals to provide integrated services to victims-survivors of family and domestic violence.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in counselling and case management, with a minimum of two years' experience working in the community services sector. You will be required to provide individual counselling sessions to clients, develop and implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions, and work within allocated portfolios to address specific focus areas such as intake and assessment, child safety, health, outreach, and culturally diverse populations.

Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality individual counselling sessions to clients affected by family and domestic violence.
  • Develop and implement tailored therapeutic interventions based on client needs.
  • Work collaboratively with the FDV Hub team to provide integrated services.
  • Manage a caseload of clients, ensuring regular follow-up and consistent support.
  • Maintain accurate records of client interactions, treatment plans, and progress notes.

You will also be responsible for providing clinical supervision, mentorship, and support to other staff members, facilitating professional development opportunities, and leading case conferences and multidisciplinary team meetings.

Requirements
  • Tertiary degree in Community Services or related field.
  • Minimum of two years' experience in the community services sector, providing support to people experiencing family, domestic, and/or sexual violence.
  • Demonstrated experience in risk assessment, trauma-informed practice, safety planning, crisis support, DFV counselling, system advocacy, and case management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including being an active team member.
  • Understanding of the impact of family and domestic violence on individuals and families.
