About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Inventory Management Specialist to join our team at POPES Electrical & Data Supplies. As an Inventory Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing inventory operations and ensuring accurate inventory counts, records, and transactions.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Inventory Control and Management
  • Develop and implement inventory control procedures to ensure accurate inventory counts and minimize waste.
  • Manage inventory records, including purchasing, goods receipts, and goods out.
  1. Purchasing and Supply Chain Management
  • Coordinate purchasing activities with external suppliers and internal transfers.
  • Chase outstanding purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of stock.
  1. Inventory Analysis and Reporting
  • Analyze inventory data to identify trends and opportunities for process improvement.
  • Provide regular inventory reports to senior management.
  1. Warehouse Operations
  • Oversee the receipt, storage, and dispatch of inventory.
  • Ensure accurate and timely picking and despatching of customer orders.

Requirements

  1. Experience and Qualifications
  • Experience in inventory control or a related field, preferably in a supermarket or retail environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  1. Technical Skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and inventory management software.
  • Knowledge of electrical products and the ability to interpret technical information.

Working Conditions

  • Monday to Friday, 9 to 5 roster, with one 4-hour shift on a Saturday per month.
  • Flexible working arrangements may be considered for the right candidate.
