Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Net Zero Project Officer to join our team at Ku-Ring-Gai Council. The successful candidate will have a strong background in energy management and net zero strategy, with excellent communication and project coordination skills.



About the Role:




  • Undertake project scoping and specification of capital works, targeting ESD performance and outcomes
  • Support the commissioning of, and undertake performance evaluation of ESD related capitals works
  • Prepare tenders, Request for Quotes (RFQ) and / or Expressions of Interest (EOI) documentation
  • Provide project support for implementation of Council's fleet transition strategy
  • Implement operational energy management processes in collaboration with Council operational teams


Required Qualifications and Experience:




  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline or substantial work experience in a similar capacity, such as electrical/mechanical engineering, facilities management, energy management, environmentally sustainable design
  • Class C Drivers Licence
  • Demonstrated experience in the delivery of Net Zero energy projects across a range of services and technologies, including solar PV, HVAC, lighting, building management systems, electric vehicle infrastructure
  • Demonstrated experience using energy management and building management and control systems (BMCSs) to optimise performance of key building services and overall building performance
  • Working knowledge of indoor environmental quality and healthy building principles, including – lighting comfort, thermal comfort, material selection, and indoor air quality
  • High level communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to facilitate collaboration across multi-disciplinary teams
