About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Budgeting Specialist to join our team. As a Budgeting Specialist, you will be responsible for analysing agency and whole-of-government financial data to identify trends, develop insights and communicate clear recommendations on the efficient use of public resources to decision makers.

The role requires working closely with teams across the NSW Government (including policy, financial and IT teams) to support advice to the leadership team, the treasurer's office, and the expenditure review committee of cabinet.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement budgeting strategies that align with government objectives.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a high-performing team to deliver high-quality analyses and advice supporting and building Treasury's capability and reputation.
  • Lead the development of P&B skills, knowledge, and abilities to deliver Treasury Business Outcomes.
  • Convey accurate and complex analysis, reconcile complex and conflicting data, drawing conclusions and clear recommendations to decision makers.
