Bricklayer Specialist

Salary: $70,000 - $80,000

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced bricklayer to join our team at J & S CON PTY LTD. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining structures, walls, foundations, and other building elements using various types of blocks, tiles, boards, and stone.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Interpreting building plans and determining the materials required.

• Erecting and dismantling restricted height scaffolding.

• Laying bricks in rows, designs, and shapes, and spreading mortar between joints.

• Embedding blocks in mortar and removing excess mortar.

• Strengthening and sealing foundations with the appropriate material.

• Fastening bricks with wire clamps or cement.

• Repairing building blocks.

• Refurbishing decorative stonework.

• Understanding and managing the quantities of material required for the job.

• Using tools such as hand tools, brick-cutting machines, spirit levels, and plumb lines to check building alignment.

• Working safely on scaffolds and swing stages at various heights.

• Using equipment and tools effectively to perform basic construction tasks.

• Ensuring compliance to agreed codes, legislation, and procedures including health and safety.

Requirements:

• Certificate III/IV in Bricklaying or equivalent.

• 1 year of relevant experience.

• Full-time, permanent position.
