Job Opportunity: Support Worker

A Support Worker plays a vital role in supporting clients with disabilities, focusing on skill development and enriching their lives through engaging activities. The ideal candidate will be confident in engaging with clients effectively, building positive relationships, and supporting their unique needs.

About the Position

The Support Worker is responsible for providing support to clients in various settings, including community centers and homes. This may involve working with clients who use wheelchairs and other aids, as well as providing additional support for medical and care needs.

As a Support Worker, you will engage with clients to develop skills through activities such as cooking, music, crafts, sports, reading, singing, and more. You will also prioritize tasks, demonstrate problem-solving abilities, and work flexibly, including shift work, sleepovers, weekends, and public holidays.

  • Resilient and self-assured, able to work with clients from diverse backgrounds.
  • Skilled in prioritizing tasks and demonstrating problem-solving abilities.
  • Flexible, with availability for shift work, sleepovers, weekends, and public holidays.
Requirements

Our ideal candidate will possess a Certificate III or IV in Disability Support or equivalent. A demonstrated understanding of disability support processes is desirable. Additionally, experience with high-needs disability clients, craft skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office are highly regarded.
