We are seeking a self-driven Project Quantity Surveyor to join our Engineering Construction division. As a key member of the team, you will play a crucial role in providing detailed quantity and technical data to support Contract Variations, Progress Claims, and Earned Value Reporting.

The successful candidate will possess a tertiary qualification in Construction Management or a related discipline, along with contract administration/Quantity Surveying experience preferably within the heavy industrial sectors. Strong communication skills, analytical abilities, and problem-solving skills are essential for success in this role.

You will be responsible for preparing information and correspondences for contractual variations and reporting, working closely with Project Controls Manager and other staff to optimize resources. This includes liaising with client representatives, suppliers, and sub-contractors to ensure seamless collaboration and effective contract management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare information and correspondences for contractual variations and reporting
  • Work closely with Project Controls Manager and other staff to optimize resources
  • Liaise with client representatives, suppliers, and sub-contractors
  • Provide timely guidance and advice to ensure contract and quantity surveying activities comply with laws, regulations, policies, systems, and guidelines
  • Analyze project cost data, making recommendations for action regarding contract interpretation from post contract to final account
  • Analyze materials, products, or qualitative or quantitative work outputs for quality, accuracy, and completeness
  • Provide advice on contract interpretation, payments, changes in scope of works, variations, claims, and final accounts to project Management Teams
  • Understand and interpret detailed engineering drawings
  • Prepare project budgets and manage costs and progress claims

What You Will Bring:

  • Tertiary qualification in Construction Management or a related discipline
  • Contract administration/Quantity Surveying experience preferably within the heavy industrial sectors
  • Excellent communication skills with proven experience of building relationships at all levels of an organisation
  • You demonstrate initiative and ensure that the teams you work with feel confident, informed, and efficient
  • The ability to leverage your analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose business problems and deliver practical, sustainable solutions
  • Intermediate user of MS Office Suite (particularly Word & Excel) to assemble and maintain documents, ensuring completeness and accuracy
