Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer-Collections to join our team in Sydney, Australia. This role will play a critical part in the transformation of analytics and insights delivery for our business, working closely with stakeholders to develop data-driven solutions that drive business growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their data requirements and proactively identify opportunities to improve data quality and integrity.
  • Develop and implement quality controls to ensure compliance with our architectural principles and best practices.
  • Design, map, and model data flows from multiple systems to support our target data vault architecture.
  • BUILD Quality checks and tests for newly developed code and data assets to ensure completeness and accuracy against established processes.
  • Evaluate and adopt new data source systems, data engineering practices, and techniques to stay ahead of industry trends.
  • Liaise with internal infrastructure providers and external partners to ensure seamless integration and deployment of data solutions.
  • Work closely with analysts to support the development of analytic models and data assets that drive business outcomes.
Requirements
  • At least 5 years of experience in data engineering, data modeling, and data analytics, preferably in the financial services sector.
  • Strong understanding of data preparation, transformation, and modeling techniques, including SQL, Python, Spark, and PySpark.
  • Experience with CI/CD methodologies, Infrastructure as Code, and role-based access controls (RBAC).
  • Deep knowledge of data tools and languages, such as DBT, Airflow, Fivetran, and PostgreSQL.
  • Ability to work effectively with technical and business stakeholders to develop data-driven solutions.
