Job Title: Financial Reporting Specialist

AXA XL is seeking a highly skilled Financial Reporting Specialist to join our team in Sydney, Australia. As a key member of our finance team, you will be responsible for providing financial information and analysis to support business decisions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the production of APRA regulatory submissions, ICAAP Report, and Regulatory Forecasts.
  • Assist in preparing the local Strategic Plan, Budget, and Forecast, as well as the Business Plan for APRA submission.
  • Monitor the Australian Branch's profitability and analyze key KPIs against Budget.
  • Provide financial information and analysis to support the Branch's Chief Actuary.
  • Perform modelling and scenario analysis on the Branch's risk appetite and establish capital management strategies.
  • Manage cash flows to ensure sufficient cash to meet operational needs.
  • Support various processes, including PTRS, FX management, and local Business plan and reforecast.
  • Ensure the risk register is updated annually and all Finance-related Risk and related policies are updated annually.
  • Manage the ICAAP Report and Summary Statement in collaboration with the CFO.
  • Establish a control framework around the ledger, including a review of the local_adj ledger and regular review of manual entries posted.
  • Support the documentation of Reinsurance Arrangements twice a year.
  • Perform ad hoc analysis and support the CFO in various tasks as required.
  • Lead or supervise Global and Local Projects, such as ESL decommissioning, process documentation, and cash forecasting.
Requirements:
  • Extensive experience in General Insurance Finance, with a good understanding of the technical drivers of insurance profit and balance sheet movements.
  • Strong knowledge of APRA GI regulations and ATO tax requirements.
  • Strong Collaborator: Develop and maintain productive working relationships with internal customers.
  • Strong Communicator: Proven verbal and written communication, collaboration, presentation, and influencing skills.
  • Results Oriented: Approach tasks proactively, prioritize, and have strong analytical and sound judgment skills.
  • Continuous Improvement Focused: Willing to ask questions and explore new ideas, eager to learn, and focused on continuously improving technical skills and AXA XL claims capabilities.

  • Education: Bachelor's degree and post-degree qualifications (CA or CPA).
