About the Role

This key position involves overseeing and assisting in the maintenance and upkeep of drilling rigs under the supervision of the Rig Manager. As a Heavy Drilling Motorhand, you will be responsible for organizing and coordinating the operation of drilling equipment, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.

Responsibilities
  • Train other crew members on safe and effective operating procedures
  • Undertake regular housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and organized rig environment
  • Utilize technology to monitor and report on work progress, making data-driven decisions to enhance productivity
  • Perform basic servicing and maintenance on rig engines and equipment, ensuring prompt resolution of any issues that may arise
Requirements and Qualifications

To excel in this role, you will require:

  • A thorough understanding of rig operations, downhole processes, and common problems
  • Knowledge of servicing and maintaining rig engines and equipment
  • A positive attitude towards safety protocols and company policies
  • A Certificate II in Drilling Oil/Gas (Onshore)
  • Relevant industry experience, with a proven track record of success
  • Physical strength and stamina, enabling you to work long hours in challenging environments
  • Ability to work at heights, with a strong sense of spatial awareness
  • Able to follow directions and adhere to company policies
  • A valid open and manual full C (Car) Class driver's licence
  • Awareness of Chain of Responsibility Regulations
  • General knowledge of machinery is considered an asset
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a focus on delivering results-oriented solutions
  • Ability to work outdoors in all seasons, with flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances
