Senior Marketing Specialist Job Summary

This is a senior-level marketing role that involves leading digital and traditional marketing campaigns, managing website content, and supporting the marketing team to promote the City of Greater Geelong.

About The Role

The Senior Marketing Specialist will be responsible for monitoring and analysing digital performance using analytics tools, providing insights and making data-driven adjustments to improve campaign effectiveness.

They will also manage and optimise the website to enhance user experience and engagement while staying current with best practices in digital marketing.

In addition, the Senior Marketing Specialist will mentor and guide marketing officers on SEO and SEM best practices, ensuring the team's growth and adherence to best practices in digital marketing.

They will support change initiatives and contribute to the business unit's culture to ensure it is inclusive, customer focused, results driven and accountable.

The Senior Marketing Specialist will align work activities to the department Business Plans and Strategy, supporting implementation and balancing value for our community and customers, within financial and resource constraints.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have a tertiary qualification in Marketing, PR, Advertising, Communications or a relevant field and/or significant senior leadership experience in Digital Marketing.

  • You will need knowledge of relevant legislation, policies and practices related to marketing and promotions.
  • Demonstrated people skills to support, influence, and collaborate with relevant stakeholders.
  • Well-developed writing, presentation, and speaking skills to align with stakeholders and achieve support for task outcomes.
  • Well-developed problem solving and stakeholder management skills with the ability to build collaboration and partnerships.
  • Tactical marketing and communication skills, including influencing stakeholders to achieve support to deliver outcomes.
  • Demonstrated experience in the effective management of and application of brand(s).
  • Demonstrated experience in overseeing digital platforms inclusive of social media accounts, website and direct customer marketing (such as EDMs).
