Job Overview

The Remote Vocational Training Scheme (RVTS) is a vocational training program for medical practitioners in remote and rural Australia.

This fully funded initiative by the Australian Government offers distance education and remote supervision, leading to Fellowship of the ACRRM and/or RACGP.

  • Provide direct general practice services and support clinical leadership within the organisation's care model.
  • Participate in Clinical Governance and continuous service improvement.
  • Support service development and medical workforce growth, including supervision of GP Registrars and Medical students.
  • Enhance Medicare income through high-quality clinical care and billing practices.
Main Responsibilities:
  • Work effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, understanding their health issues.
  • Apply Clinical Governance principles.
  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and primary care strategies.
  • Lead a team of healthcare professionals, motivating them to achieve excellence.
  • Implement quality improvement processes, including audits.
  • Develop strong interpersonal skills.
  • Apply knowledge of the Medicare Benefits Schedule in ATSICCHS settings.
  • Utilise relevant technology to improve patient care.
