Marine Payroll Team Lead

The Marine Payroll Team Lead is a key role in the organization's payroll function. This position will be responsible for coordinating and managing the end-to-end marine payroll process, ensuring compliance with statutory and internal control requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Computation, processing, and timely payment of marine payroll
  • Ensuring statutory and internal control compliance
  • Mentoring and competence development within the marine payroll team
  • Continuous improvement, process documentation, and staying up-to-date with changes relevant to Awards, EBAs, and legislation

Requirements:

  • SIGNIFICANT exposure to Australian maritime payroll requirements, rostering, and the interpretation of awards and EBAs
  • Relevant Tertiary Qualification (Human Resources, Finance, or a business-related field) - desirable
  • Demonstrated experience in:
    • Managing payroll in a large, complex organization
    • People leadership, capability development, and performance management
    • Ownership of data accuracy and security
    • Applying knowledge of payroll legislation, superannuation, and the application of awards/EBAs
    • Compliance and risk management
