Job Summary

This is a challenging role that requires a skilled and experienced professional to lead a team of craft professionals on a construction project. As a Craft Supervisor - Scaffolding Lead, you will be responsible for directing and supervising the activities of the craft team, ensuring that they have the necessary tools and resources to perform their tasks efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Supervision
    • Supervise and direct the activities of the craft team, ensuring that they are working safely and efficiently.
    • Schedule work to be performed and review the work accomplished by each craft professional.
  • Planning and Productivity
    • Determine the workforce requirements for the project.
    • Coordinate established area operational plans to ensure that the project is completed on time and within budget.
  • Tools, Materials, and Equipment
    • Monitor the usage of tools and equipment on the site.
    • Oversee the preparation of Field Material Requisitions for tools and consumables, ensuring that the craft professionals have the necessary resources to perform their tasks.
  • Safety and Quality
    • Ensure that the most current design documents are used to complete the work, and that all design changes are approved prior to implementation.
    • Ensure that the assigned construction operations and subcontractors' performance are in compliance with specifications and within schedules and budgets.
  • Technical
    • Work with Construction Field Engineers, Leading Hands, and Craft Professionals to interpret Engineering design documents, vendor documents, and other technical documents.
    • Oversee engineering solutions with Subcontractors, Leading Hands, and Craft Professionals.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Requires a bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience, or 12-14 years of relevant work experience.
  • Required Knowledge and Skills
    • Knowledge of a single or multi-discipline construction or engineering operation.
    • Prior experience on construction projects with knowledge of supervisory functions relating to field activities.
    • Strong analytical and judicious planning skills, able to prioritize and balance short-term and long-term priorities.
    • Knowledge of the use of subcontracts, and the contractor and subcontractor's responsibilities contained in subcontract documents.
    • Experience working with, supervising, and administering subcontractors and/or Direct Hire workforce.
    • Knowledge and understanding of the application and requirements of the Project Environmental, Safety & Health.
    • Knowledge of project-specific environmental compliance requirements.
Additional Information

This position has responsibilities that include exposure to changing environmental, construction, and operational conditions, which may include:

  • Extensive walking in and around an active construction and/or operations site.
  • Climbing ladders, working at heights from work platforms, including scaffolding, and mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs).
  • Use of personal fall arrest equipment.
  • Walking and working on uneven surfaces.
  • Working in constricted and/or confined spaces.
  • Variable work shifts, including day, night, weekends, and 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts.
  • Work in inclement weather.
  • Some lifting may be required.

Candidate must be able to use standard-issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) required for each assigned task.

This position is available to both local and non-local personnel. For non-locals (FIFO/DIDO), the working roster is 3/1.
