Overview


The Australian Capital Territory (ACT) Government is seeking a highly experienced and professional Chief Academic Leader to join our team at the Canberra Institute of Technology (CIT). As a key member of our leadership team, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of education and training in the ACT.



Job Description

We are looking for a dynamic and innovative leader who can provide strategic direction and guidance to our education and training teams. Your primary focus will be on ensuring consistently high education and training outcomes, while fostering new and emerging partnerships with industry, community, and other key stakeholders.



Main Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and guidance to support the department and educators in relation to educating and learning practices.
  • Assist in the management, mentoring, support, and training of educator staff, including casual educators.
  • Represent CIT through effective liaison with internal and external stakeholders, including partners, industry, and the community.
  • Liaise and develop support for the creation of new and emerging training products.
  • Assist in the management of program review and improvement (PRI), validation, and moderation of assessment tools.
  • Apply CIT policies and principles, including CIT Culture Traits, ACT Public Service Values, Work Health and Safety, and other standards.


Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:



  • A strong background in Vocational Education and Training (VET) with industry experience desirable.
  • A full Training and Assessment Certificate IV level qualification (such as a TAE40116 or equivalent).
  • A Diploma of Vocational Education and Training (or equivalent).
  • Relevant industry experience and vocational qualifications equal to that being taught, or as specified in the applicable training package or accredited curriculum specifications.
  • Leadership and management experience, with a focus on education and training.
  • High-level digital literacy.

Estimated Salary

$103,350 - $134,340 per annum, plus superannuation.
