Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement effective community engagement strategies to foster strong relationships with First Nations representatives.
  • Contribute to the development of the Company's Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) and support its implementation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver projects that support the Company's commitment to Indigenous engagement and reconciliation.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key Aboriginal leaders and stakeholders across the Sydney Metropolitan, Blue Mountains, and Illawarra regions.
  • Develop and advise on Indigenous engagement plans for major projects, ensuring reputation protection and promotion throughout planning, design, and delivery.
  • Represent the Company on external committees and facilitate stakeholder meetings.

Requirements and Skills

  • Strong emotional intelligence, including team development, coaching, diplomacy, and conflict management skills.
  • A strong understanding of the complexity of major projects and the importance of community and stakeholder engagement.
  • Creative thinker with demonstrated ability to develop strong relationships and influence key stakeholders.
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, including corporate and policy communication.
  • Demonstrated presentation skills and good negotiation, problem-solving, and liaison skills.
  • A minimum 7 years' experience working as a senior engagement/communication professional, stakeholder engagement, business-to-business engagement, or corporate affairs advisor in a major corporation, government department, or agency environment with a focus on Indigenous engagement.
