About the Role
Royal Prince Alfred Hospital is one of the nation's most respected hospitals, with a distinguished history of serving the health needs of local, statewide, national and international communities. This position aims to provide psychological support for patients and carers dealing with a potentially life limiting illness as well as provide evidenced-based care for the treatment and management of any psychological conditions for people within the sarcoma service.
This role outlines the implementation of appropriate care that is consistent with current guidelines and has been shown to be effective in the treatment and management of psychological conditions within the Australian context.
The clinical psychologist will participate in the evaluation of clinical outcomes of services, assist in the development and provision of education and training programs and will be expected to supervise post-graduate provisional psychologists where appropriate.
Clinical work will occur within the context of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Responsibilities include evidence based psychological assessment, diagnosis, case formulation and treatment of psychopathology as it is manifested in cognitive, emotional, motivational, personality and behavioural disturbances.
