Job Title:

Staff Data Engineer

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Staff Data Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our data engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and delivering integrated corporate services data platforms, providing timely and accurate data.

Your Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and deliver integrated corporate services data platforms providing a single source of truth for timely and accurate data.
  • Delivery risk treasury finance data platform outcomes;
  • Oversee the delivery of all data outcomes to support finance risk and treasury.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
  • Built or worked on building out data warehouses or data lakes;
  • Proficient in languages such as Python and SQL;
  • ETL Development: Design, Develop and implement ETL processes using Ab Initio;
  • In-depth knowledge of Oracle;
  • In-depth knowledge of AWS services, especially related to data storage and processing such as S3, RDS, Redshift and Glue;
  • Knowledge of data architectures such as data vault 2.0;
  • Familiar with the full software development lifecycle with a focus on data ingestion process, data transformation pipelines, data integration and visualisation;
  • Understand data profiling, basics of numerical statistics and data quality calculations;
  • Has experience in handling large-scale data processing and analytics;
  • Can provide code quality control through peer programming, code review and automated pipeline release management;
  • Can coach junior engineers, share knowledge to uplift and improve software development practices;
Technical Skills:
  • Building data warehouses or data lakes;
  • Proficient in SQL and DBT;
  • Proficiency in Ab Initio, Unix/Linux, SQL and scripting languages such as shell or Perl;
  • Experience and knowledge of cloud-based infrastructure (AWS);
  • Experience with AWS services such as Glue, Lambda, SageMaker, or EMR;
  • Infrastructure as code using AWS CDK/CloudFormation or Terraform (desirable);
  • CI/CD tools (i.e. GitHub Actions), TeamCity or Octopus;
  • Familiarity with streaming technologies such as Apache Kafka, AWS Kinesis, or similar;
  • Familiarity with visualisation tools such as PowerBI, Tableau or QuickSight;
