Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Finance Expert to join our team. This role will involve overseeing financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes, ensuring timely insights and Board-ready outputs.

The successful candidate will lead and develop a high-performing finance team, delivering strategic business advisory and financial support. They will also manage the outsourced payroll function, maintain strong relationships with key partners, and drive continuous improvement in financial systems, reporting tools, and internal controls.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and develop a high-performing finance team, delivering strategic business advisory and financial support.
  • Oversee financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting, ensuring timely insights and Board-ready outputs.
  • Manage the outsourced payroll function and maintain strong relationships with key partners.
  • Drive continuous improvement in financial systems, reporting tools, and internal controls.
  • Lead risk management processes, including insurance, compliance, and financial governance frameworks.
  • Oversee cashflow, investments, and funding arrangements, ensuring alignment with policy and performance benchmarks.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of five years' experience in managing a finance team and function.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritise, and meet tight deadlines in high-pressure situations.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Experience in risk management.
  • Demonstrated verbal communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to liaise and negotiate with senior management, Board, and other stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to build relationships and get the best out of people at all levels.
  • Experience operating and advising at senior management level, including strong presentation skills to senior-level representatives.
  • Collaborative work style.
  • The ability to manage high workloads and meet deadlines within specific time frames.
  • Unwavering integrity, authenticity, professionalism, and customer focus.
  • The ability to liaise with a diverse range of people.
  • The ability to manage multiple/concurrent projects.
  • Strong computer skills, particularly in finance systems, word processing, presentations, and spreadsheets.
  • Recording and reporting of statutory requirements.
  • Tertiary qualifications in accounting (CPA or CA qualified applicants will be highly favoured).
