We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team at Times Berwick Restaurant and Bar. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking high-quality dishes to meet the expectations of our discerning customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and cook a variety of dishes using different cooking techniques and equipment.
  • Inspect and date deliveries of ingredients, and arrange food to comply with first-in-first-out standards.
  • Prepare buying orders for the next day and record kitchen utensils.
  • Create fresh and innovative salads using seasonal ingredients.
  • Inspect supplies, equipment, and work areas to ensure conformance to established standards.
  • Determine how food should be presented and create decorative food displays.
  • Instruct cooks or other workers in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of food.
  • Estimate amounts and costs of required supplies, such as food and ingredients.
  • Collaborate with other personnel to plan and develop recipes or menus, considering seasonal availability of ingredients and customer demand.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Chef in a commercial kitchen.
  • Experience with catering for special events and functions.
  • Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent).
  • Food Safety Supervisory Certification (preferred).
