Transform Your Career in Painting and DecoratingWe are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Painting and Decorating Tradesperson.
As a Painting and Decorating Apprenticeship candidate with East Coast Apprenticeships, you will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced tradespeople and learn the skills required to become a qualified painter and decorator.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist experienced painters and decorators with surface preparation tasks, including sanding, filling cracks, and cleaning surfaces.
- Learn and apply proper painting techniques, including brushwork, roller application, and spray painting.
- Mix and match paint colours accurately according to project requirements.
- Apply primers, undercoats, and paint coats to surfaces with precision and attention to detail.
- Assist with wallpapering tasks, including measuring, cutting, and hanging wallpaper.
- Clean and maintain painting tools, equipment, and work areas.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations and use PPE.
- Assist with decorative finishes, such as faux painting, stencilling, or special effects.
- Interact with clients in a professional and courteous manner, understanding their requirements and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Participate in off-site training programs and courses to enhance skills and knowledge in the painting trade.
- Continuously learn and develop skills under the guidance of experienced professionals.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Genuine interest and enthusiasm for the painting and decorating trade.
- Must hold a White Card or be able to obtain it ASAP.
- Hold (or close to obtaining) a current Drivers License and have own reliable transport.
- Work Experience within the construction industry is highly desirable.
- Must be physically fit.
- Be a perfectionist with an eye for finer details.
- Be reliable, resilient, motivated, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Able to take direction.
- Ability to work well in a team and take direction from others.
