Job Title

Design Manager: A Strategic Leadership Role

As a seasoned Design Manager, you will lead and develop high-performing teams to deliver large-scale projects and programs in the water sector. This strategic leadership role requires expertise in cost, schedule, risk, and change management, with a proven track record of driving successful outcomes.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing project plans to ensure timely delivery, within budget, and meeting quality parameters.
  • Leading and mentoring a team of professionals to achieve project goals and objectives.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to understand their needs and preferences, ensuring seamless communication and relationship-building.
  • Managing and mitigating risks, identifying opportunities for improvement, and implementing effective solutions.
  • Staying up-to-date with industry developments, best practices, and regulatory requirements, applying this knowledge to drive innovation and excellence.

Successful candidates will possess:

  • Extensive experience in design management, project management, or a related field, preferably in the water sector.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with a focus on building strong relationships.
  • A deep understanding of cost, schedule, risk, and change management principles, with experience in applying these skills in complex projects.
  • Proven problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and address issues promptly.

The ideal candidate will have a tertiary qualification in Engineering or a related field, along with significant industry experience. Exposure to Defence, building structures, or building services is highly desirable.
