About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Water Sensitive Urban Design Specialist to join our team at Blacktown City Council. The successful candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering and water management, with a focus on sustainable urban design.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct field inspections of water sensitive urban design assets to assess their condition and identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop and implement asset handover processes to ensure seamless transition of assets from construction to maintenance.
  • Work closely with the Asset Engineer to enhance asset renewal forecasting, maintenance planning, and annual budget submissions.

Requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in civil or environmental engineering, or TAFE Certificate of trade or equivalent in a relevant field.
  • Experience in the construction and maintenance of water sensitive urban design assets.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with key stakeholders to solve problems and communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Relevant local government experience.
  • Experience in the use of ESRI GIS software.
  • Availability to work flexible working hours.

Remuneration and Benefits

The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council's Enterprise Agreement.

  • Entry level for this position starts at $1,622.73 per week, plus an additional 10.32% in accordance with Council's flexibility agreement.
  • 41-hour working week.
  • Rostered Day Off (RDO) every fortnight.
