At the New York State, we are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to fill the role of Civil Engineer Trainee. This is an exciting opportunity for recent graduates or individuals looking to transition into a career in civil engineering.

The successful candidate will assist in the performance of civil engineering work and provide engineering support to technician and engineering staff. The incumbent will be expected to participate in field work, review of contracts and specifications, preparing and reviewing maps and plans, performing and checking computations, preparing portions of written reports, assisting in the design of highway and bridge projects, conducting complex field and laboratory tests of engineering materials.

• Assist in the preparation of technical reports, maps, and plans
• Participate in field work, including inspections and testing
• Conduct research and analysis to support engineering projects
• Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders and colleagues

To be considered for this position, applicants must meet the minimum qualifications outlined below:

1. One year of experience assisting in engineering, engineering technology, architecture, or environmental technology; and graduation from high school or possession of an equivalent diploma;
2. 18 semester college credit hours in mathematics, physical science, engineering, or related field; or
3. Graduation from a high school technical education program in CAD/CAM, construction technology, drafting, engineering, or electronics.

We offer a competitive salary range of $ 60,000 - 80,000 per annum, plus benefits, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
