Tree Management Officer Role Summary

This is a key position within our organisation that plays a vital role in maintaining and enhancing the urban and open space tree canopy.

  • Develop and implement proactive inspection strategies to identify potential risks associated with trees.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure efficient and effective tree assessments and management services are executed.
  • Utilise best practises in arboriculture to support a healthy and sustainable environment.

The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, as well as the ability to use technology and systems for record-keeping and reporting.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and maintain tree registers via Council's Asset Management System.
  2. Conduct regular audits to monitor the health of urban and open space trees.
  3. Engage with community and stakeholders to deliver exceptional customer service.
  4. Provide expert advice on arboriculture practices to support a healthy and sustainable environment.

The successful candidate will have AQF Level 5 Diploma in Horticulture (Arboriculture) or nearing completion, Class C Drivers Licence, NSW WHS White Card and proven experience in tree assessment and management.
