Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and leading projects from a contractor's standpoint, ensuring timely and budget-friendly delivery of road construction projects. Key responsibilities include:

  • Budgeting, programming, monitoring expenditure, controlling resources, and reviewing priorities;
  • Managing labour, plant, materials, and subcontract within budget and time constraints;
  • Undertaking various contract management activities, including client liaison;
  • Procuring road making materials and project services within guidelines;
  • Implementing PM techniques and systems in accordance with company procedures;
  • Submitting reports and providing information to management within timeframes;
  • Training and guiding project staff on specifications and construction processes;
  • Contributing to the estimating process for bids or offers;
  • Maintaining a high standard in traffic management;
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 5 years' prior experience in Civil Roads Infrastructure construction with the Department of Transport and Main Roads in Queensland or any Australian State Government Road Authority;
  • Strong knowledge of TMR Technical Specifications;
  • Experience delivering TIC(SI), MW, and RMPC contracts for TMR or similar clients;
  • Working knowledge of SAP, P6, or other similar project management packages;
  • Strong written, verbal communication, and computer literacy skills;
  • Experience with QMS and effective application on construction projects;
  • Well-developed interpersonal and consultative skills;
  • A current driver's license;
