About the Role

The Department of Education, Western Australia is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Mathematics Teacher to join our team at Geraldton Senior High School. As a Mathematics Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality mathematics education to students in Years 7-12, with a focus on developing their problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and mathematical literacy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement engaging and challenging mathematics lessons that cater to diverse learning needs and abilities.
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support their growth and development.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to design and deliver curriculum programs that promote student learning and achievement.
  • Contribute to the development of a positive and inclusive learning environment that values diversity and promotes social-emotional learning.
  • Stay up-to-date with curriculum developments, educational research, and best practices in mathematics education.
Requirements
  • Hold a Bachelor of Education or equivalent qualification in Mathematics or a related field.
  • Have a strong understanding of the Australian Mathematics Curriculum and a proven track record of delivering high-quality mathematics education.
  • Be able to teach mathematics at an Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) level and possess a sound understanding of the mathematics curriculum and courses.
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
  • Be committed to ongoing professional learning and development, with a willingness to adapt to changing educational landscapes and technologies.
