We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Learning Experience Lead to join our team at the Commonwealth Bank.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of learning professionals in our Design chapter, developing skills through effective coaching and support, and acting as a strategic partner to the Chapter Area Lead and other senior leaders.

Key responsibilities include designing and implementing streamlined processes for the creation, development, and delivery of learning programs, fostering a culture of collaboration within the Learning Design Chapter and across the organization, and continuously seeking feedback and data to refine processes and improve design outcomes.

This is a pivotal role to the success of our learning domain in FY25 and offers the opportunity to shape a key chapter within our organisation. We are looking for a leader who can balance strategic thinking with hands-on operational management, with discretion, sound judgment, and the ability to make data-driven decisions.

Requirements:

  • Leadership: Proven experience in leading and managing teams, with a focus on driving productivity and design excellence.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop and implement strategic initiatives that align with broader organisational goals.
  • Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify challenges, develop innovative solutions, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Learning Design Expertise: Deep understanding of learning design principles, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Change Management: Experience in leading change management efforts, particularly in setting up new teams or functions within an organisation.
  • Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Agile Methodology: Proficient in Agile principles with proven experience operating in a matrixed organisation highly desirable.
  • Experience Required:
    • ~ 7-10 years of experience in a learning and development or learning design role, with a strong focus on process optimization and productivity.
    • ~ Proven track record of leading and managing high-performing teams.
    • ~ Experience in setting up or optimising design functions within a large organisation.
    • ~ Strong background in strategic planning and execution, particularly in a learning or HR context.
    • ~ Experience with learning design technologies and platforms.

We offer a competitive salary of around $150,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus additional benefits such as health insurance and retirement savings plan.
