Legal Counsel, Employment Law

This is a challenging opportunity for an experienced Legal Counsel to join our Employment Legal Team. The role involves leading or contributing to the delivery of strategic legal advice across all aspects of employment law.

The successful candidate will play a critical role in managing legal risk, supporting senior stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with evolving workplace legislation and regulatory frameworks.

  • Provide expert legal advice on employment law matters including enterprise agreements, awards, contracts, workplace investigations, and terminations.
  • Monitor and interpret legislative and industrial relations developments, advising on implications for policy, practice, and risk.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate employment-related documentation, ensuring legal robustness and alignment with organisational values.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders and external counsel to embed legal risk management into our workforce strategy.
  • Influence policy development and contribute to enterprise-wide decision-making on employment practices and compliance.
  • Lead or support responses to regulatory inquiries, disputes, and litigation involving employment matters.
  • Develop and implement effective strategies to manage legal risk and improve compliance outcomes.

To be successful in this role, you will have deep knowledge of employment law, industrial relations, and workplace legislation. You will also possess strong communication and presentation skills, tailored to diverse audiences.

A collaborative mindset and commitment to ethical, people-centred legal practice are essential. Additionally, you will have familiarity with regulatory bodies and processes.
