Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Newsreader to join our dynamic team, responsible for delivering live local news, sport, and weather twice an hour. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, leveraging strong technical skills in writing, editing, and presenting talk radio news bulletins and headlines.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have a strong interest in news and current affairs, with a proven track record of interviewing, researching, writing, editing, and presenting on-air news content. They will work closely with the FIVEAA News Chief of Staff, Station Manager, Content Producers, and Presenters to ensure accurate and consistent on-air news content under tight deadlines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver live local news, sport, and weather twice an hour
  • Write and present engaging news bulletins and headlines
  • Research and interview guests for on-air segments
  • Edit and proofread on-air content to ensure accuracy and quality
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A degree in Journalism or related field
  • Proven experience in news reading, writing, and editing
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
