Job Overview

Project managers play a vital role in the delivery of development and infrastructure projects. They oversee every stage, from feasibility to construction and handover.

  • Key Responsibilities: Manage project documentation, including scopes, schedules, budgets, risk registers, procurement plans, and tender submissions. Coordinate multidisciplinary inputs (engineering, planning, surveying, environmental) to ensure integrated and timely project outcomes.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with clients, councils, government authorities, consultants, and contractors.
  • Financial Management: Monitor and control project financial performance, including forecasting, resource planning, reporting, and commercial risk.
  • Business Development: Participate in business development initiatives, proposal preparation, and strategic planning.
  • Leadership: Lead and deliver multidisciplinary projects within Tasmania and other states. Provide leadership to project teams, mentoring junior team members.

Requirements:

  • Project Management Expertise: Strong project management capability in engineering, construction, or property development with a track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
  • Technical Knowledge: Ability to interpret and communicate complex technical information effectively.
  • Financial Acumen: Understanding of project profitability, cost control, and contract administration.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, report writing, and client presentations.
  • Organisational Skills: Self-motivated with excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Leadership and Mentoring: Strong leadership, mentoring, and team coordination skills.
